Retail Burn

Retail Burn For november by Pragma Retail Consulting

This month, we've got a mix of names featuring for several different reasons.

The most talked about retailers, according to the Retail Burn, include: Sainsbury’s, Card Factory, Jack Wills and Planet Organic all reporting positive news stories, and Bonmarche, Blue Inc., Gap, Fishing Republic, Shuropody and Berketex Brides where the news hasn't been so great.

The Retailer Database shows plenty of good news about Sainsbury’s. Sainsbury’s is due to introduce wellness hubs in seven of its stores in a move to take on high street health food stores like Holland & Barrett, as well as opening an “experimental” new format in Selly Oak to pilot a host of new features including a food market and Oasis and The Fragrance Shop concessions.

At the other end of the scale is Berketex Bride having announced that it had ceased trading and gone into administration. It had been in existence for more than 50 years selling wedding dresses, bridesmaids' dresses and other accessories.
